War for the Planet of the Apes 2017
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
A good movie, but definitely predictable and a little too slow at times—kind of like Rise. That being said, it still had great moments, and the emotional weight hit when it needed to.
But man… Caesar is gone. Can’t believe it. After everything, it still stings. At least we know the pack is in good hands with King Maurice. My guy never misses.
Solid ending to a surprisingly strong trilogy.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes 2014
Wow, what a step up. I already thought Rise was solid, but this? Way better. Never thought a movie about talking apes could hit this hard, but here we are.
Yeah, it was pretty predictable, but for a 2014 blockbuster, this thing kinda slapped. The action, the emotion, the world-building—it all just worked. Also, I was 100% right about Maurice, because I love him more than ever now. And Caesar? I’d run through a brick wall for him.
On the flip side… Koba is just a shitter version of Scar.

Planet of the Apes 2001
Oh god. Just finished this. Cool concept, solid special effects for 2001, and it definitely gave me some nostalgic early-2000s movie vibes… but man, this was a rough watch.
I wanted to start this franchise because I’ve heard great things, but this was not a strong start. The pacing was all over the place, the storytelling felt messy, and don’t even get me started on that ending—what was that?! Absolute nonsense.
Will I finish the franchise? Probably. Have I heard…

Seven Years in Tibet 1997
Seven Years in Tibet was a great journey, though it had a really slow start. It’s funny because Brad Pitt’s accent? Wow. It’s so terrible it’s almost impressive how much he struggles to keep it consistent throughout the movie. But despite that, his performance still shines, and he brings a surprising amount of depth to the role.
What really stood out to me was the story itself. It’s such a unique, fascinating tale—how a Nazi mountaineer ends up becoming friends…
