  Dune 2021

  Fantastic adaptation by director Denis Villeneuve (Arrival, Blade Runner 2049) of the first book of the the Dune sci-fi series. The cinematography looks amazing as is the sound. It has a big name cast with Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista and others, but Timothee Chalamet in the lead role of Paul holds his own and does a great job.

  The fast pacing made the movie fly by even with the much required voice-over explanations. I can't want for the next movie.

  Gettysburg 1993

  Long, drawn out scenes of canon fire, soldiers firing muskets, and troops marching, interrupted occasionally by long soliloquies explaining why the battle was so important for both sides. This excruciatingly 4-hour long epic could easily come in at 90-minutes with proper editing. 

  Loved the use of synth more in the score: nice 1990s touch.
