Rumble in the Bronx 1995
There's so much great fight choreography, fun parkour, slapstick physical comedy and rambunctious vehicular mayhem in this that it's easy to forget that a dude gets fed into a wood chipper.

Sorcerer 1977
Watched this at 7 in the morning and was absolutely exhilarated by the combination of coffee and the slow motion grimy nihilistic carnage on display here. Visually like a documentary until it gradually fades into a monochromatic synthesizer nightmare. To me the 1970s run from 1969 to 1977 and I think the exact transition into the 1980s happens about 3/4s of the way through Sorcerer.
When fate leaves you in misery and you have no way out, you'll do anything for another chance to roll the dice, even if inevitably that means another loss.
