This movie improves on what made the first one really good. Even though these movies leave some stuff out of explanation like the whole criminal underworld stuff, the plot and motive of this movie is simple and easy to understand. If you commit to a blood oath, you must hold up your end of the bargain. But what makes this series stand out from the rest is the action sequences and the their choreography. They’re filmed very fluidly which gives them an organized but chaotic flow which makes it satisfying to watch. As always the acting by Keanu Reeves is great. Overall another solid installment.
This was my second watch through of this movie however it’s the first time I’ve seen it in one full sitting. But this movie is great and one that will and should be analyzed by filmmakers for the rest of time. The biggest challenge of this review will be resisting the urge to flame Mark Zuckerberg. First of all, Aaron Sorkin is one of the best screenwriters of all time. There’s no debating that. The acting in this film was sublime. Obviously Jesse Eisenberg gets a lot of credit for his portrayal as Zuckerberg and rightfully so. He nails that nerdy/geeky persona so well. Obviously many rom-coms share common tropes and somewhat predictable stories but they never fail to put a smile on your face. What separates rom-coms though is their specific stories and that can be said for this film. This one takes an interesting route as the girl falls in love with the family and the feeling of togetherness more than the guy. At least initially. It serves as a really good story driver as to why she does what she does.…
