A few laughs but overwhelmingly dull, uninspired, lazy, painfully cringe and positively not scary.
Where the original Smile was scary, its sequel is more terrifying in every way. Smile 2 takes the original premise and improves on it, and the story, dialogue, characters and cinematography are a notable improvement over its predecessor.
The cast was stellar all around, and the editing and pacing were very well done. No real complaints, certified horror banger
Well crafted, and delivers on its promises. While these Alien movies have never been (nor claimed to be) the pinnacle of deep storytelling, the horror aspect in Alien: Romulus is very much there and is effective in this iteration. It feels more like a version of the original for modern audiences than a prequel, but it works nonetheless and is entertaining fare for fans of the franchise.
