Bong Joon-ho does it again. It's another story of societal oppression and a commentary of the political class system. Where the others have been somewhat "subtle" in its messaging; this time it comes with indoctrinated fans with red hats and a narcissistic idiotic politician in front of it all.

Some may say it's a bit much, but I see it as a great fantastical satire with a ton of heart and humor.

I definitely recommend going in blind and avoiding any trailers or even some posters if you can. Its concept & execution was very much like an extended Black Mirror episode. It's not 100% original and somewhat predictable (especially if you've seen the marketing material), but I had fun time watching it overall.

It tries a bit too hard to be "punk" in most regards, but there are moments where the ridiculous foul-mouthed edginess, awkward moments, and over-the-top acting makes it somewhat entertaining.

It's basically "Edgy Midwest Napoleon Dynamite" and if that intrigues you; give it a shot I guess.

Strange Darling is a wild and messy ride that, despite its somewhat predictable plot, is undeniably visceral, intense, and engaging. The film's raw energy and phenomenal acting performances elevate it beyond its familiar narrative.

The film's intensity is palpable, with each scene building upon the last, culminating in a chaotic and emotionally charged climax. The performances are uniformly excellent, with the actors fully committing to their complex and often disturbing characters.

While the film's predictability may disappoint some viewers, it's the raw power and intensity of the execution that truly sets it apart.

    Hope you like butter! 🧈
