    The Final Terror

    ★★★

    Love a good backwoods slasher.

    Highlights:
-A guy hiding from a deranged killer deciding to take mushrooms
-All the women randomly having British accents
-Getting to see Cypher from The Matrix’s backstory before he took the red pill

The image quality was bad (even though this was the blu ray and is probably the best it’s ever going to look) and it’s noticeably short on kills and nudity, but it was more ambitious than I thought it would be and a real fun time.

    Double Doc Date Part 2

This one actually won best documentary at the Oscar’s back in 2017, but I definitely didn’t find it any more enjoyable than The King of Kong.
In fact, it was probably less enjoyable. But I can’t deny that it was a better piece of storytelling.
Definitely an intriguing look into Olympic doping and a wild story about how this random amateur cyclist helped blow the lid off the whole thing.

Also, Vladimir Putin definitely kicks dogs.

Great idea for a documentary. I was sold on the premise alone.

Unfortunately, what we got was a bunch half assed attempts at social commentary about race and AI, guided by the inane ramblings and incoherent musings of the people involved.

    This SHOULD have been good.
    Unacceptable.
    Do it again.

    ★★

I’m unfamiliar with the book, so maybe I’m a little out of my element, but I thought this was crap.

Absurdism is fine, but here it was obnoxious.
Off beat dialogue and non-sequiturs are fine, but here it came off pretentious.

I’m glad it was an Ohio movie, and it did have some intriguing moments. But all in all, crap.

Still better than Don’t Look Up.
