I don't know why I love this movie. From the outside it is a very typical teen romance film featuring an incredibly prominent dosage of early 2000s aesthetic, which is never a good thing. Its performances are not Oscar worthy and it doesn't feature any flashy visuals. So, Why do I love this film?

Wang leads her actors to charming performances coupled with Wangs eye for charmingly quiet visuals with few close-ups, punctuated by some stunning slow motion cinematography by Anna Franquesa Solano a cinematographer to look out for.

In my opinion Soderbergh is the best he has ever been as filmmaker. His relentlessness to do things the way he wants visually and aesthetically is something that I admire about his approach. All performances are perfect if slightly cartoony. However I believe that was what the film was going for and I think works perfectly with the tone of the excellent script by Scott Z. Burns.
