A remarkable performance from two remarkable actors, but could’ve benefited from a little more screen time to fully tell the story. This movie is pure emotions from start to finish, and the ending saves a script that seemed somewhat underdeveloped at times.

Admittedly, I went into this movie with low expectations. The advertising campaign flopped. The trailer left much to be desired. Chalamet just did not seem believable as any rendition of Wonka. But still, as an avid fan of both Gene Wilder’s Wonka and Timothee Chalamet, I felt I owed the movie a fair watch in theaters. The movie left me flabbergasted.
