Alien: Romulus 2024
Incredible set design and practical effects set the tone for an immersive addition to the franchise.
The world building in the opening act adds depth to the Alien lore.
The young cast, though justified with a compelling backstory, struggle to define themselves as interesting characters. Especially the lead, Rain. We’ve seen how little is needed (Alien/Aliens) yet these fine actors didn’t quite take it there. Maybe regional English accents are too close to home for me? Uncinematic?
