    Does some wonderful and very refreshing stuff about friendship and virtue for the first half or so, then promptly forfeits all of that for a violent extremity that makes the characters unsympathetic to the extent of breaking the stuff that made them interesting.

    Got halfway through this and had no idea what was happening to be honest. 

    Stunning visuals and a repertoire of fun subject material (parkour! dystopia! powers!) somehow managing to not generate enough thrust to carry my interest through a first act … very poor.

    Frankly a disappointment but I’m sure it’ll provide some nice stills for laptop screensavers and lofi playlists.

    (GOES FOR CHAPTER ONE AS WELL AS THAT ISN’T ON LETTERBOXD)

    It’s really nice to see that the emotional journey of connecting to these characters and actors that the fandom has gone through was so similarly shared by those that worked on these two films.

    It’s also super inspiring that everyone who worked on this has so much incredible work ahead of them, and that a portion of that will probably reunite some of the cast because of their friendships.
