Can’t help but feel disappointed, when I went into the cinema very excited for it. Robert Pattinson + Bon Joon-ho sounded like a recipe that couldn’t fail. Robert Pattinson is amazing and does prop this film up, together with an equally strong performance from Mark Ruffalo.

However, after enjoying the first half of the film I think the film begins to lose traction and I couldn’t fully get into it. Still had a good time, just not as much as hoped.

A classic Norse vengeance story, that although done plenty of times, was very entertaining.

I think it felt fresh due to the camera work and style of Robert Eggers, with the tracking shots and beautiful visuals making it very enjoyable.

    4 star.

Start by saying that this film is really good, genuinely really enjoyed it. When going into the cinema was a little worried it would fall flat.

The big set pieces on this film are crazy good, and the scale is mega. The opening sequence was captivating and obviously the coliseum action was insane. I also thought pacing was consistent, and I did not feel the 2 hour 30 runtime with there being no real dead time throughout.

    The acting: hmmm.…

Shark Tale cutting deep lol. Lowkey underrated, great soundtrack and genuinely funny at times. Stacked cast, fun watch.
