The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo 2011
Such an awesome thriller. I’ve gotta read the book now, as it seems Fincher has an eye for good books to adapt. I got some issues with the pacing, but the film crescendos into something incredible before petering out on a somewhat disappointing ending. I’d honestly forgotten Mikhail (Daniel Craig)’s primary motivation, and the effects aren’t explored in a thorough enough manner when compared to the core Vagner family drama, but I digress.
Some truly tense and uncomfortable scenes in here too. But at the end of the day, it’s driven by out-of-this-world dialogue and wonderful performances across the board.

Longlegs 2024
From the incredible posters and near-perfect trailers, I went into Longlegs with incredibly high expectations and hopes that it would sit alongside greats such as The Silence of the Lambs. Oz Perkins’ terrifying occult mystery does just that.
It’s shot beautifully, oozing style out of every shot. Gore effects are good and used sparingly, heightening the effect. The film appears more thriller than outright horror, but in those last twenty minutes or so, it makes its true intentions clear. Beyond…
