Mickey 17 2025
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Bong Joon-ho is back at it with another gripping dystopian romp through a strange new world. Reminiscent of Snowpiercer, Joon-ho delivers us a story that is heartfelt, humorous, and riddled with biting class consciousness. With a star cast that gets to stretch their wings and show off their range, this movie is a science-fiction gift that delivers as much plot and action as it does absurdity and humanity. High rewatch-ability.

The Killing of a Sacred Deer 2017
Yorgos delivers yet another uniquely unsettling film that creeps under the skin, slowly setting off alarm bells until it's too late to turn back. The film dips into uncanny valley territory with its unnaturally sterile dialogue and the characters' passive disregard for social mores, leaving the viewer simultaneously uncomfortable and enthralled. A great example of creative innovation within the psychological thriller genre.

X 2022
I went into this blind and was not disappointed. It's atmospheric and haunting with some disorienting cut scenes thrown in there to keep you on your toes. The mood stays up with sprinklings of classic Ti West humor and gruesome fun. The acting was solid, the story was entertaining, and it was shot surprisingly well.
