I really wanted to like this film but was left slightly underwhelmed throughout. I thought the performances by most of the cast was great, the film was shot well, I never really felt the run time and was intrigued by Adrien Brody’s relationship with Guy Pearce and watching it unfold. However I never really felt invested in the subject matter and although the long run time the film’s focus felt very contained. The architecture was definitely an afterthought to Laszlo’s story which I just couldn’t connect with.

Blade Runner 1982
Review #7- Blade Runner
Got to experience this masterpiece for the first time in the cinema. Honestly everything that I love about film I found in this movie. The practical effect, set design and score are hypnotising and I felt completely immersed in the world they created. Taking simple shots and making them feel dystopian and the pacing that puts you in a trance throughout the runtime.
True artistic perfection and the reason I love film.

When Harry Met Sally... 1989
Review #6- When Harry Met Sally
An interesting and fascinating approach to the idea of love and falling in love. From the small inserts of couples explaining how they met to the actual narrative of Harry and Sally’s relationship you see how the perception of “love” is entirely unique to each couple.
Overall a film that I really enjoyed and feel as though it is one that will sit with me for a while.
