    do not let the beautiful beginning fool you, this is rated R for a reason, and the brutality and inhumanity is shown very clearly in the last hour. I was right with McAvoy at the sight of Washington like that. African rituals are ancient and fucking torturous, with all due respect to the culture that all homo sapiens come from, I can only thank modern science and medicine for saving the lives of millions of people and effectively sometimes saving those who would later save the world in some way.
    i gotta stop watching movies like this late at night, i overthink way to much.

    this is heavy with A LOT of political drama, i am unsure why it is classified as a war film, when we only see tiny bits of the BRAVE men who fought for Lincoln and his vision for the United States.
    anyway, this is great, the directing, and shots are beautiful, and Daniel is such a calm but imposing presence as Lincoln. also what a fucking cast, not a single shot is wasted, and all the actors and actresses kill…
