The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou 2004
Maybe I was a little bored at points but the Wes Anderson magic swoons me over just as much as anyone else who appreciates some dry wit and sets that look like how 70s Doctor Who looks in my imagination.
The way it all wraps up is very pleasant and leaves me with a nice somber feeling which really encapsulates the whole thing.

Grand Theft Hamlet 2024
A time capsule of both the pandemic as well as online gaming culture. A bit more than just a let’s play, a thoughtful (if hammy) and funny documentary. It gets a lot of merit from just being a proper formally released feature and most of the humour comes from the context of watching GTA Online as a film - for me watching something that is so of its it’s time in an era where less films feels like a unique product of their contemporary cultural context.

Doctor Who: Wild Blue Yonder 2023
Good fun and properly creepy. Acknowledging The Flux is bold and actually exciting and slightly traumatising. Love a neat sci-fi concept too. Got a bit waffly.
