Alien Romulus doesn't do anything new but the old tricks it pulls are pulled very good. The director took inspiration from Alien Isolation and he did a great job as the sound effects were amazing, keeping quiet most of the movie so you could feel the punch when it needs it. Escape from L.A. 1996
Haven't had this much fun watching a movie in a while.
While the dialog is cheesy, the acting not that superb(alothough I'd argue everyone knew what they were doing and they were doing it pretty well), the action not that amazing everything coming together makes for the most fun watch of your life. John Carpenter knew very well what he was doing and he scored every point on that basketball court (yes even the score is amazing).

Maybe I liked this movie because of the setting I was in (free showing in one of those 'alt' bars) but I was blown away by how it created tension with just three men inside a car.
