Illegally Yours 1988
An '80s fever dream that makes zero sense, but Rob Lowe's kind of charming, the St. Augustine location work adds some visual interest, and the Johnny Cash theme song absolutely rips.

Lots of charm, lots of striking visuals, and lots of WTF.
Even when things stop making sense and the story falls apart midway through, there's a glossy '80s sheen over everything that's intoxicating.

"I'll bring gifts, like you never saw
Priceless garments that you'll adore
Persian rugs to enhance your floor
For the pleasures of love"These were actual lyrics. That Elvis sang. Wow.
This is one of the stupider Elvis movies, so stupid that it's actually kinda fun at times. It has the stylistic sensibilities of a '60s Batman episode: hammy performances, goofy fight scenes, bright costumes, and lovely ladies.
The songs are abysmal, and completely unnecessary to the story, but they needed to sell records while filling out a scant 95-minute runtime.
Not an essential Elvis movie, but more enjoyable than some others.

Liked it even more on the second viewing.
Random thought: Am I the only one who was really hoping Tom Everett Scott, a.k.a That Thing You Do's Guy Patterson, would get up and play drums with the jazz band?
