Strikingly similar to Disney’s The Young Black Stallion released in 2003 (but i’ll give it the benefit of the doubt because it’s based off of Frank Hopkins’s life). There’s something about “a man and his horse” stories that will always win me over, and this film is no exception. It was a treat to see a painted horse on screen, especially as a horse so iconic as Hidalgo; it’s like childhood me returned to watch this movie!
