Smile 2 was every bit stressful as it was engaging. Having not watched the first one and being asked to watch this on a whim, I wasn’t expecting much and yet I left the cinema re-evaluating my position on the horror genre as a whole.
While it’s no where near the best I’ve seen, it had a great balance of tension, didn’t over-use jump scares and allowed you to recover and gather your thoughts in appropriate places.
