  The soundtrack used for the version I watched was absolutely bananas and more interesting than the movie itself (after about 1 hour of my life spent trying to figure out who composed it, I am now pretty sure it was Johannes Kalitzke). I heard sounds that I probably never heard before, and that score really enhanced the experience for me.

  Although some of the twists and turns don't make a lot of sense, I did find them very entertaining.

  It is not as visually impressive as The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, but it is still a really solid silent expressionist film.

  It has been a few hours, and I'm still smiling. I haven't had this much fun in a movie theater in a really long time.

  Rewatched it in preparation for Gladiator II. Admittedly, some things didn't hold up as well as I hoped. The most glaring thing is the editing and the way the action sequences were filmed. The excessive zoom ins, cuts and shaky cam in the battle and fight scenes make it so hard to understand what's going on. At first, I thought this had to be some sort of censored-for-TV version I'm watching, because I didn't remember the action sequences being like…
