The plot was pretty generic but it facilitated some fun, dumb action sequences. The russo brothers know a lot about how to direct action scenes and very little about pretty much everything else, and it shows. However, America needed a Ryan Gosling v Chris Evans fight scene 10/10

This truly is a feat in filmmaking. The shots and blocking are dynamic enough so that the long takes never lag. The cinematography by Deakins is pretty incredible. The scene at night where the town is lit by fire is gorgeous. The two main actors give good performances.
The thing that blows my mind is how immersive the production design is. There would be seven minute takes following the characters for two hundred yards and each inch of the battlefield…
