Sebastian Stan is excellent as a frustrated actor with a disfigured face who receives a miracle treatment that turns him into...Sebastian Stan. Of the two prestige 80's influenced body horror comedies about self image and fame from 2024, I preferred this over the Substance.

Forbidden Planet 1956
This movie clearly had a huge impact on sci-fi as a genre - it feels like an early Star Trek episode, the ship's crew uniforms look like Empire costumes, and Marvel Comics must have found inspiration in the mad Dr. Morbius, his reference to adamantium steel, and the supremely intelligent Krell alien race (heard of the Krulls and the Kree?).
It's influence on other stories is reason enough to check it out, but it works on it's own as a sci-fi monster movie. Although it's a fairly slow procedural burn to get to the monster.

Nosferatu 2024
Top notch production, cinematography, and character design in this very faithful Nosferatu remake. Lily Rose Depp was a revelation in an excruciating physical performance. Bill Skarsgard continues a Lon Chaney-esque run of fascinating villains - although my man could say his lines a little faster, would've helped the pace! Eggers' very serious and credulous treatment of the supernatural and the occult as real continues to make interesting cinema. I didn't quite fall into it emotionally but respected it as an intentional piece of work.
