Cried for the loss of Cedric Diggory and also for the loss of John Williams writing the score.
Fourth Harry Potter film in theaters this week. What a wild ride!
It was delightful to get to see E.T. in IMAX for the 40th anniversary. The music was so good from the very start, and that, mixed with nostalgia, made the film seem great. There’s more character development than I remembered, and I even wondered if maybe in its attempts to given background and context the film has some unresolved tangents ("my father’s in Mexico" from Gerdy and the tearful "he hates Mexico" from the mom—*did* Elliott secretly want to run…
I'm glad I watched it in a theater--it was fun to watch, even if the climax was cheesy. Who doesn't like a romp of a multiverse? Michelle Yeoh is fantastic.
