  Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse 2023

  Was a great summer block buster. Animation and lighting was always really interesting. I think the pacing gets lack luster over half way through but it didn’t really bother me too much. The reasoning for the 2049 Spiderman motives in different areas was pretty dumb. It definetely was way more comedic then the first movie in a hundred ways. I thought all the action scenes were really well thought out. Overall just a very good movie

  Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance 2009

  Great subversion and commentary on the addiction of Eva’s audience with the characters in Eva. It serves it’s purpose well and sets up so well the metaphorical side of the result that comes with worshipping these idols. It’s also just visually beautiful and has one of the my favorite battle sequences of all time which also includes some of the greatest tracks I’ve ever heard. Shiro Sagisu never fails and only gets better with each installment. It also is the most misunderstood media I’ve ever seen other than the original series and TLOU2. Go watch it.

  Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 2023

  Definitely a good blockbuster film. Had me emotional on the second watch due to the great way it used each of the characters. James Gunn has always done really well balancing multiple main characters and leaving them all interesting in their own ways. Movie definitely has it’s problems, especially with the excruciating exposition dump in the beginning along with weird pacing decisions through the first and third act. I don’t have any desire to watch it again but I loved it for what it was and I’m glad this is what came of the third installment.
