Calibre delivers strong suspense through excellent cinematography and a slow, unpredictable build-up that keeps you guessing. However, it felt odd that the town’s community was so close-knit, with the gun register knowing how many hunters are around at all times, yet two townspeople still thought it was safe to wander the woods around hunting time. Despite this, the film stands out for its exploration of a complex moral dilemma—watching the two main characters navigate an impossible situation had me constantly wondering what I would do.
The marketing for Longlegs was fantastic—it really built a lot of hype. Unfortunately, the movie itself was a bit of a letdown. The cinematography was great, and the way they showed the flashbacks were innovative, but it just didn’t deliver where it mattered.
There was no real tension throughout the movie—nothing that made you feel like the characters were truly at risk or had something to lose. And when the big reveal finally came, it didn’t pack the punch it…
