The Searchers 1956
Maybe a bit too much of a classic in the sense that the story and the (beautiful) shots already feel familiar if you haven’t seen it. Even though it inverts the western and tries to highlight and critique American racism by making the main character an Indian hater instead of a brave cowboy, it is still so highly problematic that I was more flabbergasted than entertained. The ending was weird and a bit unbelievable too. Hasn’t aged well.
