spike lee other than most understands that basketball is not just a sport. he treats on court moments like ballroom dances where the rhythm of the body react and anticipates space instinctually, just like regular life. sports in itself can sometimes be inherently rigid due to preexisting rules and traditions, but basketball truly exists as an anomaly that creates space for freedom of expression.
