  I truly, truly, truly, truly, truly, truly, TRULY did not like this experience. Even as a stupid ass horror movie it wasn’t a fun watch for me. It’s aged effects make it an assault on the senses, the characters’ personalities seem randomly pulled out of a stereotype hat for each one of them. How can so much madness happen in a movie, and I’m still so devastatingly bored?

  I don’t mean to be a hater, and I’m usually not, but this sparked some weird, rageful reaction in me.

  Beautiful, meditative, and charming in its retro-limitations, Night on the Galactic Railroad takes its viewers by the hand on a dream-like journey through the fringes of reality. It manages to be both noticeably unsettling and yet sleepily cozy throughout- a feat that few films I’ve seen have been able to achieve to this degree.
