Some of the absurd elements were great, I would have liked to see more of that (e.g. the dinner scene). But the movie also switches to character-drama mode at times, which I don't feel is particularly earned. It should pick a lane. Scenes that were meant to be intense and heartfelt rang hollow for me because the characters were not properly built up beforehand.
