Thought provoking to say the least. Dragged during the second act, but the beginning and end were good. For mature audiences.

Not your typical kung fu action flick. There are depths of emotion and beauty here that bring me back time after time.

The grim, pointlessness of war for conquest and glory is on full display in this WWI epic. We follow young Paul Baumer from the day he illegally enlists (he’s too young at age 17) through the horrific reality of trench warfare. This is an in depth meditation on war, friendship, honor, good, evil, and how they all live embedded within the human heart. This is a moving picture that I definitely recommend, but it’s not for the faint of heart.
