Dragon Ball Super: Broly 2018
This films has a lot of great individual moments, but as a whole, nothing fits together to tell a satisfying narrative.
Interesting characters are introduced and carry the second act, only for everything to be dropped in favor of a 30 minute slugfest with very little stakes. Other than stellar animation, there's very little that can be praised without huge asterisks.
Despite a talented staff, everything is squandered to adapt a butchered script with a third act that basically reads "they fight".
I'd give it 2 stars if I wasn't biased.
