In 1974, a crew of long-haired hippie Hollywood filmmakers (actors Jeff Bridges, Harry Dean Stanton, Sam Waterston, Patti D'Arbanville, Al Neri, Joe Spinell, Elizabeth Ashley, old -timers Slim Pickens and Clifton James, musician Jimmy Buffet, screenwriter Thomas McGuane, and director Frank Perry) descended upon Livingston, Montana to make a modern-day (sort-of) Western. What results is an amiable shaggy-dog 70s hangout film where stakes are reasonably low, nobody's really an asshole, everyone gets what they want more or less and a good time is had by all. Making movies with your friends is the best but this film proves it's even better when you're a kid.
