Sleek, stylish, banger score, banger outfits, banger interiors, note-perfect cast, old-school spy games and character-rooted dialogue for the current geopolitical era in a way that gives the plot some real extra oomph instead of feeling like a cursory hat-tip, and really really funny in a completely unobtrusive way.

The trailer misled me (and I fear has misled countless others), never bet against Soderbergh.

Total cheeks but the robots do look good. Why is Holly Hunter in this in the way she is? Why is Colman Domingo in this in the way he is? Why is Patti Harrison in this in the way she is? Why is this just so boring?

I’m not so against MBB as a performer as others but she has absolutely fuck all to work with here.

Can’t even accuse this film of lurching from set-piece to set-piece because barely anything happens until the last 45 minutes.

Truly all-time stuff from Spaeny. I thought this was a brilliantly balanced display of tenderness and empathy (for Elvis too! Perhaps too much!) and then it just ends! Just runs out of road. It’s unfortunate because it’s so immersive (especially thinking about the budget Coppola was working with) and the soundtrack, a product of its circumstances as it is, is so brilliant. I’d never heard the Dolly Parton “I Will Always Love You” before! Was nice to see Elvis costumed in more normal clothes!
