I really wanted to love this movie for it’s moody visuals and haunting soundtrack but it’s plot just kinda fell flat for me. Some aspects about queer identity and the accompanying anxieties of discovering who you truely are were so powerful but they were undermined by a confusing, inconsistent narrative. Metaphors for unearthing your true self seemed muddled with ideas of self harm and abandonment which left me confused about their intent.

Why the hell is Mark Zuckerberg painted as misunderstood at the end, this movie clearly shows him being a horrible person throughout. Boohoo.

A refreshing, non-romantised relfection of the senior year of high school, supported by heartwarming and quirky dialogue. Simple but effective visuals don't distract from the grounded story. Plot points suffer from extremely fast pacing at times, resulting in rushed relationships, conflict resolutions and confusing religious subtext. Overall, lacks thorough character development of the protagonist, which could also be argued as accurate to adolescence.
