Ironically, Last Night in Soho was far more compelling before the fantastical elements came into play.
Thomasin and Joy are great, but the story goes completely off the rails in the last act.
What a disappointment.

How did this happen!?
Going from the first movie to this will give you whiplash. It feels like an early 2000s attempt to make a trashy American James Bond. There's a strong case to be made that this paved the way for Vin Diesel's XXX.
Who is Tom Cruise even playing here? This ain't Ethan Hunt.
You could make a drinking game out of how many times Tom Cruise and Thandiwe Newton look at each other in slow motion.
I…
I liked the cast and really wanted to enjoy Renfield, but it was trying way too hard to be funny despite failing to even get a chuckle out of me.
In the first few minutes I could feel that I wasn't vibing with the movie's light-hearted tone juxtaposed with over the top gore, and unfortunately I was right.
Bummer.
