Patlabor: The Mobile Police 1988
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I liked this for the look at "what if mechs were actually pretty mundane and boring," there's something almost speculative about it if you don't question humanoid mechs too hard. Most of the characters were charming to watch too. I think more of it could have used scenes like those found at the beginning of the two-parter,something so grounded could afford to show more about its characters past their first few identifiable traits.
