Dr. Renault's Secret 1942
Maybe it's just because I've seen a lot of these old horror movies but I knew that guy was an animal turned into a man like 5 minutes after he showed up. It wasn't much of a stretch there are so many films from that era dealing with evolution and turning people into animals, or animals into people, etc.
Not much of a secret.
Also that one dog was GIANT.
