Foragers 2022
“I’ll continue the path of my grandparents, that is my truth”
Perhaps the best way to understand the tragedy of Israeli Apartheid is not through the images of destruction and police violence that we have grown so desensitized to through our screens. Through the lens of elderly Palestinians being interrupted and humiliated in their efforts to collect culturally significant herbs and vegetables, Foragers presents the inhumanity of apartheid through the universal experience of attempting to feed oneself and one’s family.

The Brutalist 2024
Gorgeous. Felt that it lost its way in the 2nd half.
Did not appreciate that so much of the marketing and dialogue surrounding the film was about the fact that it was 3.5hrs long with an intermission.
