What a strange film. The acting by the three name stars is very good. Acting by some of the supporting cast is not so much. Sometimes there are moments of truth and feeling. Other times the film feels overly precious and preachy. It is a small, intimate movie that spends its entire time talking about the big issues of life, death, self determination, and politics. Maybe I should give it a better grade since I respect much of what it was trying to say, but I guarantee many will not agree.

I spent $$$ at the theater to see this. Mostly, it was pressure from others, but I also consoled myself with the idea that this would be a quirky comedy, which I usually enjoy. There was definitely lots of quirk, but the “comedy” morphed into meanness and cruelty fairly quickly.
