this is a indie modern cult classic that hardly anyone talks about. romance crime movies are a lost art, this film is such a nice addition to the genre. the love story and the world-building were both equally entertaining, and in a lot of the cases a movie excels in either or the other but oftentimes never both.

dudeee this movie had issa rae’s influence all over it and i love that very much. i swear keke palmer is on a generational run, her comedic timing is phenomenal. almost all the jokes landed, runtime was perfect, and the acting was great, i was entertained the whole, what more could you ask for in a comedy.

I Saw the TV Glow 2024
this film really grew on me. the more i think about it, the more i appreciate its campy charm. it explores gender identity in such a way i’ve hardly seen done, with metaphors and nuance that invite the audience to draw their own interpretations. i actually found myself wishing it was longer— the ending was abrupt and heartbreakingly tragic. the protagonist lives their life miserably and passes away without ever living the life they were meant to. did i mention the use of nostalgic imagery and the angsty score??? this movie has such a unique vibe to it. i gotta rewatch again on a rainy day.
