The Invention of Lying 2009
This movie had a great concept and terrible execution. The movie was alarmingly boring until the third act, repeating the same interactions over and over between different people. The concept however was very interesting, it asks the viewer to consider if lying can be good, if small fabrications can improve society rather than hurt it. The relation to religion was, in my opinion, very effective, grounding this absurdism in our lived in society. The ending was nice and made you feel for the characters. Overall, really great concept that was ruined by a boring plot, and stale characters.
