    The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat

    ★★★

The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat was an okay movie—nothing more, nothing less. The plot felt familiar, like something we've seen before, just with different characters this time. While the storyline didn't break new ground, the performances helped carry it. Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor delivered as expected, fully embodying her character with ease, which is no surprise given her track record. The other actresses did a solid job as well, bringing their roles to life. However, the film didn't leave much of a lasting impact beyond the solid acting performances. I don't see myself watching this movie again.

Imitation of Life is an excellent film that always seems to come on during the holidays. For some reason, it has become a favorite Christmas movie for me and my mom to watch together. In which my mom has watched the movie since she was a teenager. Its powerful storytelling and emotional depth make it a cherished part of our holiday tradition.

    ★★★

"The Color Purple" (2023) offers a fresh take on Alice Walker's novel, drawing from the Broadway adaptation to explore its themes more deeply, though its rearranged scenes may confuse those familiar with the original 1985 movie; visually stunning with captivating music and dance, it beautifully captures the essence of the rural South (Hartwell, GA), emphasizing themes of struggle, hope, love, and redemption, making it a compelling must-watch for its powerful performances, moving storytelling, and emotional impact on audiences.

Tyler Perry's Divorce in the Black

Tyler Perry's movie The Divorce was a disappointment; the plot was predictable, the characters were one-dimensional, and the dialogue was poorly written, making it a tedious watch from start to finish. The best part of the movie is the funeral scene, which will go down in history—I have never ever seen a funeral scene like that before.
