Somewhat hard to follow because of the choice in direction. There’s certainly a ton of symbolism here intertwined into the narrative and the POVs. That being said, if I want to know the gist of the story, this absolutely made it distracting for me.
Anna Kendrick has always been a standout character actor, bringing charm and wit to her roles, but Woman of the Hour marks a striking departure for her. Not only is this her directorial debut, but it’s also the first time I’ve seen her play a victim—and she does so with a rawness that lingers long after the credits roll.
