It’s a fun, romantic comedy set in Hawaii….whats not to love! Rewatching all these years later, I guess I can say it would have been nice to include a bit more of a local feel…not to mention, I’m sure the medical situation would have more to it in real life but it’s a movie….so overall I dig it for what it is.

I think we’ve all been through a pretty bad breakup, so a lot of this film is pretty relatable. It’s funny, it’s fun…beautiful scenery, decent chemistry with the main actors…there’s a buildup towards the end...It’s a great time.

As we watch this prim and proper woman spiral down the drain, we begin to realize she was never as put together as we thought. The writing does take us on a rollercoaster of a journey but it’s Blanchett’s acting that really sells us the despair of this mess. A bit of a downer for constant rewatches, but I wouldn’t mind watching again once in awhile.
