What a movie: whether it’s the simple quick cut romantic interludes between Anbu and his girlfriend; or the pumping ground-side arguments between the two teams; the movie flows quick and smooth like sand between fingers; a near perfect lookalike to the current average middle class Indian’s love, life, ego and loss. And some really good cricketing philosophy too, looping in caste issues in a very low key way.

My whole-ass existence has been influenced so much by this piece of art; every emotion, every mood, every aesthetic that it tries to evoke;
 that I consider it the central most influential piece of art to me; admittedly so like for many other
wannabe filmmaker// Tarantino fanboys; yet to good fucking reason, even 30 whole years post-release.
Dialogues are still sharp, crisp and interesting;
Music is still absolutely iconic
Editing is pitch perfect
Screenplay is obviously top tier
Performances are simple and fun and very very grey
Top shelf stuff. Peak 90s. Peak Tarantino. Peak Cinema. High pulp art.

Absolutely beautiful, non-horror from Cronenberg; Viggo fighting Russian Gangsters to death butt-naked in a bath is top 10 one on one fights for sure
