The first 50 minutes of the movie, I thought, was a setup for Thommy to undergo a character transformation. After 1 hour had passed, I thought the film would take a different approach and give Patellar a redemption arc. But at the end of the film the audience is left with none of those. A film which only became engaging in the second half. Lot of shots in the first half were longer than needed.
But aside from these criticisms the film really makes you care for Kuttappai and Vallyappachayi and leaves us wanting to see more of their relationship and the characters around Kuttappai.
At the end of the film, the audience is left with the sculpture that Kuttappai makes for Tintu(HOPE) which was a nice touch.
Giving it 🎂🎂🍰(2.5) because I wanted to see more from these characters. Not more shots of the same activity.
The people we root for do follow a code, but at the end of the day they still are immoral.
Entertaining movie though. ⭐⭐⭐ stars!
