For people who watch true crime content, the main plot is pretty familiar and not that new but its the specifics of the emotional aspects to it that shines most. It is a pretty straight forward case which I kinda liked while they still withold the tension which makes a gripping watch.

I can see why this is being compared to "The Wailing" but I thought it is still a bit unfair to compare each movies. I thought this is pretty solid & interesting as its own as an occult-mystery-horror movie.
However, the movie mostly tried to explain things to me rather than "show don't tell" and transport me to the real situation. I thought the first half was great and had a good escalation but the second half kind of fizzled out…

I have never been the same since I watched the first time Son, Kei, Kyoko, & Nozumi were able to play Linda Linda with the instruments & vocal finally syncing and got through the whole song (assuming, as it cuts in the chorus).
The movie just perfected how school fairs felt like- just waiting and trying to get by, trying to complete your tasks, and maybe good things will come with it fun memories & gaining a new friend.
