  Good lord.

  I really, REALLY wanted to like this film. I wanted to say that it was actually a subversive take on sexual trauma and maybe some people gave it a hard time just because it was disturbing. I’m a big fan of vintage adult animation, notably Ralph Bakshi and his works like Fritz the Cat and Coonskin (which both feature excessive sexuality) and this seemed pretty similar to me.   This movie really stressed me out because the kind of socially awkward, helpless behaviors Sandler shows I felt really relating myself to, like the nonsensical bad decisions he made that were played off for laughs (although sometimes exaggerated) seems like something erratic I would do under pressure. Makes me kind hate myself but at the same time feel seen by unexpectedly Adam Sandler and PTA. Feeling isolated right now but very emotional and funny so good movie.
